I admit I totally understand why someone would ask “Why do I need a travel designer?”  With the information on the internet so accessible and endless advertising for travel popping up in your inbox etc surely you can do this on your own?  Are you an experienced traveler like we are and think you don’t need help?  You might think hiring a travel advisor is for those inexperienced travelers.  Well please think again.  Something as simple as selecting a cruise can seem overwhelming with the array of choices. 

There are so many cruise lines, ship types, port options, styles, room categories, and the list goes on and on.  Before we were in this industry we used a travel expert to help us plan a couple of our own cruises.  We were able to experience a maiden voyage on a new ship in Northern Europe and secure a cabin upgrade that otherwise we wouldn’t have known how to do. Cruising is a huge industry.  Do you want to see the Northern lights from a ship in the Arctic Circle or is the Caribbean more your style?  Do you prefer larger ships with multiple activities or smaller more intimate ships?  What about River cruising?  The choices are endless.   Sometimes clients like to plan activities before or after their cruise to a particular destination nearby.  Also, did you know that there are many other possibilities for shore excursions besides just the ones offered on the ship?   Not all cruises are equal and we like to really listen to our clients to help them figure out the best possible option depending on what they are looking for. 

Another thing I have learned since being in this business is just how many wonderful options are out there that I would have never known about had I not been in this industry.  We have many trusted travel partners that we work with.  Booking with a travel designer does not mean we are only booking on large bus trips that stop at various sites and seem very “touristy.”
